Drone Delivery Services in Different Countries

The use of drones for delivery services has been a topic of discussion for many years. However, it was only recently that countries around the world started to approve the use of drones for commercial deliveries.

Drone delivery services offer several benefits, including:

  • Faster delivery times: Drones can deliver packages much faster than traditional delivery methods, especially in areas with heavy traffic.
  • Cost-effective: Drone deliveries are cheaper than traditional delivery methods, as they require less manpower and infrastructure.
  • Environmentally friendly: Drones use less fuel and produce fewer emissions than delivery trucks, making them a greener option.

Here are some countries that have implemented drone delivery services:

United States

The United States has been at the forefront of drone delivery services. Companies like Amazon and UPS have been testing drone deliveries in select areas. Amazon Prime Air has been testing deliveries in rural areas with the aim of delivering packages within 30 minutes. UPS has partnered with Matternet to deliver medical supplies to hospitals in North Carolina.

China

China has also been testing drone deliveries for a few years now. JD.com, one of China's largest online retailers, has been using drones to deliver packages in rural areas. In 2018, JD.com received approval from the government to operate a drone delivery network in Shaanxi province.

Australia

Australia has been using drones to deliver medical supplies to remote areas. The Royal Flying Doctor Service has been using drones to deliver medical supplies to rural communities. Google’s parent company, Alphabet subsidiary called Wing who in 2019, successfully launched its drone delivery service in Australia, delivering items such as food, medicine, and household goods.

Rwanda

Rwanda has been using drones to deliver medical supplies to remote areas since 2016. Zipline, a California-based company, has been operating a drone delivery network in Rwanda. Zipline delivers blood, vaccines, and other medical supplies to hospitals and clinics in remote areas.

Japan

Japan has been using drones for commercial deliveries since 2016. In 2020, the country's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) approved the use of drones for commercial deliveries. Companies like Rakuten and Amazon are already delivering packages via drones in certain parts of the country.

Switzerland

Switzerland has been testing drone deliveries since 2015. Swiss Post has been testing drone deliveries in select areas. In 2019, Matternet, a drone delivery company, received approval from the Swiss government to operate a drone delivery network in Switzerland.

Conclusion

In conclusion, drone delivery services are becoming more common around the world and is expected to grow rapidly in the coming years as several countries are expected to fully embrace this technology. Drones offer faster and more efficient delivery options, especially in remote areas, they reduced traffic congestion, and lower carbon emissions. As more countries approve the use of drones for commercial deliveries, we can expect to see a significant shift in the way packages are delivered.

The Most Immersive Flying Experience!!

FPV drones are quickly becoming a huge trend within the drone industry. What is a FPV drone? FPV stands for first-person view. Flying an FPV drone, means that the pilot see’s what the drone sees.   Traditional drones are flown through the pilot’s perspective on the ground. FPV drones are piloted through the perspective of the drone via an onboard camera that is placed on the drone and transmits a livestream straight to FPV goggles, a headset, a smartphone device, or other screen. FPV drones offer the pilot a much more immersive flying experience, which can be shared with anyone watching the video captured.   The benefits of flying an FPV drone?   An immersive experience that uses technology to provide pilots with the most futuristic viewing. Precise flying and better accuracy allowing quicker reactions and better awareness of surroundings. Allows the pilot to capture stunning aerial images and video footage. Can be flown indoors as well to showcase the internal features of a
