How can drones transform the media industry?

The media industry has come under extreme scrutiny over recent years from one end of the spectrum to the other.

And while investigations into the moral conduct of print media has come under fire, so too has the film industry – with the rise of #metoo.

But now, with the rise in popularity of drone pilots using commercial drones, it is clear that there is now a distinct shift in focus of the future of media. And Quote 4 Drones will tell you why.

MOVIES

For most film buffs, it’s not simply the story line that captures their attention but the cinematography of the film. So it comes as no surprise that film directors and producers are constantly looking for new methods to achieve a jaw dropping response to their production – step forward drone technology.

Already, movies including Wolf On Wall Street and Captain America are using drones and drone pilots for filming scenes that require fast paced action sequences and birds eye views, allowing the viewer to have a real life experience.

Literally, no other, yes we will repeat, no other method can start a scene, say in a building and end up hundreds of feet in altitude in one uncut shot.

Obviously you can achieve Ariel shots with a helicopter, but then producers have to take into account air disturbance and shadows – which when working on a budget every minute counts to get that perfect money shot.

JOURNALISM

Credibility of a news report is paramount when trying to increase viewership and readership.

So if a TV journalist is covering a war such as in Syria, there are areas prohibited to enter – but with drone technology that problem has now ceased.

With the use of drone pilots they can now capture footage to give viewers a real time experience of news – aiding credibility.
