There are so many ways the vehicle industry is evolving
in a bid to make life easier for the consumer. While drivers are used to
relying on Sat Navs to wade their way through traffic, car manufacturers are
now introducing new methods to make life easier, and what better way than the
use of drone technology.
Drones that are paired with self –drive vehicles (a concept many are unsure of) can elevate the driverless car by providing data to prevent potential accidents.
Even though self-driving technologies include a multitude of safety features, implementing a drone on the vehicle can identify the best alternative route to avoid obstacles and potential problems. By providing a bird’s eye view, the drone is able to help the navigation system to take into account the route ahead and problems ahead. Data from the drone could then also be passed between self-driving systems to other cars to help adapt their routes as well.
Decreasing Traffic Congestion
The use of passenger drones has already made its debut in
2016 at the Consumer Electronics Show by Chinese company Ehang 184.
And while it’s still in its infancy, it’s value is
unchallenged. Once made for commercial use, Air Taxis may be the solution to
traffic delays. Passenger Drones, or Air Taxis, can also cut commute times by a
drastic amount while reducing emissions by the number of cars on the road and
delivery trucks.
